Together, we are growing the game of adaptive tennis across the state, ultimately creating a fantastic tennis community where everyone can thrive.

Thank you for supporting Abilities Tennis Association of North Carolina!

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your generous donation plays a crucial role in supporting our mission to make tennis accessible and inclusive for individuals with intellectual disabilities. With your support, we can provide transformative tennis opportunities that empower our athletes to see beyond their disabilities, foster social connections, and achieve personal growth.

By offering free programming, we ensure that financial constraints do not hinder participation. Whether they can barely hold a racket in their hand or are playing at a high level, we want our athletes to reach their potential on the tennis courts. The athletes are the stars of our program and they love tennis!

What does your generous donation support?

Your donation supports a range of initiatives aimed at making tennis accessible and inclusive for individuals with intellectual disabilities. These include:

Clinics: Abilities Tennis of NC organizes over 30 clinic locations across the state, offering meaningful instruction and training for persons with intellectual disabilities. These clinics are free of charge and provide all necessary equipment, court facilities, and experienced instructors.

Tournaments: Our athletes love to showcase their skills and compete at tournaments. These events, which can range from one day to a weekend experience, provide an opportunity for athletes to connect with their peers within the Abilities Tennis community. The average cost of a tournament is $5,000, which covers expenses such as venue rental, transportation, food, and equipment.

Volunteer Training: Abilities Tennis of NC conducts in-person volunteer trainings across the state, ensuring that volunteers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work effectively with our athletes on the courts. Additionally, head coaches receive specialized Adaptive Instruction certification through the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), enabling them to provide high-quality coaching tailored to the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

We greatly appreciate your support, as it makes a significant impact in the lives of our athletes and helps them thrive through the power of tennis.
