The 6th annual Winter Chill Adaptive Tennis Tournament on December 7th 2013 was indeed a happy happening. The title Tournament, however, understates the value to this event to the community. These tournaments are more than a chance for competition. Let me mention some features that go beyond the typical tennis tournament:

· Participants are accommodated at three levels based on abilities and experience and across a span of ages. The main objective is to provide an opportunity that challenges all but remains fun.

· Participants and their supporters have an opportunity to reunite – a gathering – to form and deepen friendships and supportive bonds. This socializing is facilitated by some great partying and non-tennis interludes.

· Student organizers grow and learn and, then, carry these leadership and organizational skills into their futures.

· Volunteers are awed and inspired by the joy and effort of our athletes.

It is a special honor to be a part of Winter Chill each year. Thanks this year to the committee, all the volunteers, and to the Lady Wolfpack tennis team.
