Volunteer or Support the Tournament
The Winter Chill is a free event for our athletes and would not be possible without volunteers, grants, and donations from the community. Please consider making a donation or volunteering your time. Contact Lou Welch to volunteer or become a sponsor.
ATANC is dedicated to providing a positive tennis experience by enhancing the mental, physical, emotional, and social well being of individuals with intellectual disabilities by introducing and developing the skills required to participate and compete in the sport of tennis.
Three high school students from St. David’s school met to plan this event along with the NC State Women’s team. The high school students, Kathryn Haile, Callie Oliveira and Cameron Welch are involved in every aspect of planning from ordering lunch, planning the craft project to organizing the check in. The women’s team kept score for the athletes during the tournament and afterwards held a clinic for all the participants. The high school students worked with a local organization to send much needed supplies to Guatemala during a mission trip this spring.
